Newsletter Control Center Help
Below are some of the more frequently asked questions about the OSTG email newsletters. If you can't find the answer to a question you have, please email us at newsletters@ostg.com. The OSTG newsletter control center also allows you to use many features via email commands. A list of those commands and how to use them can be found here.
How do I subscribe? You can subscribe several ways. One is to go to http://newsletters.ostg.com, choose the newsletter(s) you want, fill-in your email and preferred format and click the "Subscribe Me!" button. You can subscribe to additional newsletters at any time by going to the list of available OSTG newsletters. Simply click on the "Subscribe" link for the newsletter you are interested in. You can also subscribe using the email commands built into Sympa. For a list of those commands and how to use them click here. How do I unsubscribe? You can unsubscribe several ways. You can use the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any OSTG newsletter you receive, or you can manage all of your subscriptions by going to the newsletter control center. Use your email address and password to login, click on "Your Subscriptions" in the top menu, and then click on the "Unsubscribe" link for the newsletter. You can also unsubscribe using the email commands built into Sympa. For a list of those commands and how to use them click here. What is my password? Your password is mailed to you when you first sign-up for an OSTG newsletter. If you can't find it you can always go to http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws and click on the link to have your password sent to you. We recommend that you change your password to something that is easily remembered the first time you log into the system. How do I change my password? You can change your password at any time. Sign into the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws, go to "Your Account" and scroll to the bottom to "Account Password". Enter you new password in both boxes and click "Update Preferences". How do I change my email address? Sign into the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws. Go to "Your Account" and scroll down to "Email Address". Enter your new address and click "Update Preferences". How can I put my subscriptions on hold? You can suspend your subscription to either an individual newsletter or to all of your subscribed newsletters. To put one particular newsletter on hold, log in to the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws. Go to "Your Subscriptions" and click on the "Delivery Options" link for that newsletter. Change your newsletter format to "no mail" and click "Update". To suspend all of your subscriptions, log in to the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws. Go to "Your Account" and scroll down to the "Reception" area. Change the format to "on hold" and click on "Update Preferences". You can also put your subscriptions on hold using the email commands built into Sympa. For a list of those commands and how to use them click here. How do I reactivate subscriptions that I put on hold? To reactivate a subscription, you just need to change the reception format back to text or html. To do this for an individual newsletter, log in to the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws. Go to "Your Subscriptions" and click on the "Delivery Options" link for that newsletter. Change your newsletter format to text or html and click on "Update". To reactivate all of your subscriptions, log in to the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws. Click on "Your Account" and scroll down to the "Reception" area. Change the format to text or html and click on "Update Preferences". You can also reactivate your subscriptions using the email commands built into Sympa. Sign into the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws, and click on "Your Subscriptions" to view all the current subscriptions for your logged-in email address. How do I change my newsletter format? Sign into the newsletter control center at http://newsletters.ostg.com/wws and click "Your Subscriptions" to view all the current subscriptions for your logged-in email address. Click "Delivery Options" to access a pull-down menu to select you delivery format. Then click "Update Preferences". You can also do this by using the email commands built into Sympa. We welcome any feedback you may have on the system or the newsletters. Contact us at newsletters@ostg.com. I went through the list but can't find the newsletter I am looking for. Where is it? There are several site run newsletters that are not listed in the newsletter control center. These can be found at their parent sites: www.slashdot.org, www.freshmeat.net, www.animationfactory.com, www.thinkgeek.com or www.sourceforge.net. There are also communications sent out to OSTG members. You can change your OSTG member preferences by going to www.ostg.com, logging into your account and clicking on "account options". If you still can't find your newsletter or list please email us at newsletter@ostg.com for help. When I signed up for my newsletters I opted-in to some 3rd party email lists. How do I get off of those? Those lists are not part of the OSTG newsletter control center. You can unsubscribe from those lists here. Can I receive the newsletter in another language besides english? We currently do not have newsletters reproduced in any languages other than English. Do you offer digests or summaries of your newsletters? Currently we do not offer digests of our newsletters. We will be adding some in the future, so please contact us at newsletters@ostg.com with any suggestions you my have. Why are you asking me demographic questions? We ask our readership questions from time to time to gauge how we are doing, learn what changes we can do to improve the newsletters and to simply learn more about the type of people that read our newsletters. Unless you have opted-in to receive special marketing announcements from our vendors, all the data you provide stays with us. We do not sell it, nor do we use it for any outside purpose.
